Giant Step Club: The Hudson Years
2007–2010
Giant Step’s weekly club had been on hiatus for a few years, and we started toying with the concept of bringing our signature high energy, late night atmosphere to an “after work” version of the club.
In 2007, Giant Step kicked off a unique partnership with Ian Schrager’s Morgans Hotel Group. The Giant Step Monday parties at Hudson Hotel ran for almost three years. Instead of having a resident DJ, the party featured special guest DJs like The Martinez Brothers, Questlove, Danny Krivit, Benji B, Ben Watt, Tony Humphries, Miguel Migs, DJ Spinna, Bobbito Garcia, Turntables On The Hudson, Louie Vega, Afrika Bambaataa, Joe Claussell, and many more. The aesthetic and environmental design, paired with the music and audience, created a unique and unforgettable experience.
Giant Step also went on to produce concerts and events at other Morgan properties. The Giant Step club series continued the party at Le Bain at The Standard, High Line. The Hudson years kicked off what was to become a longstanding relationship with Schrager, which continued when he created his EDITION brand with Marriott Hotels.
